Activities may include participation as a member of an inter-disciplinary patient care team, provision of pharmacotherapeutic and pharmacokinetic consults, patient and provider education, development of best practice guidelines, policies, and/or procedures related to pharmacotherapy, and active committee membership on departmental and/or interdisciplinary teams. The clinical pharmacy specialist serves as a leader for the department in their specialty area of practice, organizing appropriate departmental initiatives and providing education and teaching for pharmacy colleagues, providers and trainees at all levels of practice. The clinical pharmacy specialist will also have a working knowledge of the operational aspects of the department and will contribute to the overall objectives of the department as an integrated member of the pharmacy practice team. The clinical pharmacy specialist provides supervision of pharmacy technicians as defined by NYS Laws and Regulations. The Level II clinical pharmacy specialist is Post GraduateYear 1 (PGY1) and Post GraduateYear 2 (PGY2) trained in the specialty area (or equivalent clinical experience). This may be a new resident graduate or a clinical specialist in the first 3-5 years of practice.
Salary Range:
$126,258-$163,610 The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Job Requirements Education:
Fulfills the requirements to be a licensed pharmacist in NYS. Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD) or advanced training (PGY1 or PGY2 residency) strongly preferred. Candidates with equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience:
3 years of experience in area of specialty highly recommended/preferred.
License/Certification Required:
Current New York state license (or eligible for licensure) to practice professional pharmacy. Achievement of Board of Pharmacy Specialties or other similar organization certification preferred
Skills:
Critical thinking, basic clinical knowledge, problem solving abilities
