Job Description
Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist - Retail Job Type Contract Join a dynamic healthcare environment as a Staff Pharmacist providing essential pharmaceutical care within a hospital setting. This contract opportunity, starting June 1st, offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with coverage required every sixth weekend (subsequent days off during the week). The role is based in a reputable medical center and requires a valid Ohio Pharmacy License alongside hospital pharmacy experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately review, interpret, process, and dispense medication orders and prescriptions. Monitor and manage patient medication therapy for safety, appropriateness, and effectiveness. Ensure departmental compliance with pharmacy policies, quality programs, and regulatory standards. Communicate drug information clearly to patients, families, and healthcare providers. Support medical emergencies by participating in drug therapy management and maintaining adequate medication supplies. Coordinate daily pharmacy technician activities to meet patient and organizational needs. Uphold the facility's values including empathy, integrity, stewardship, agility, and teamwork.Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy. Valid Ohio Pharmacy License in good standing. Minimum of one year hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills fostering collaboration and patient-centered care. Commitment to continuous professional growth and adherence to safety and quality standards.Physical Requirements:
Ability to exert medium physical effort, including lifting up to 20-50 pounds occasionally.
