Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Direct Hire A growing closed-door Long Term Care pharmacy in Columbus, OH is seeking two Direct Hire Narcotic/Control Pharmacists to join their expanding clinical team. These roles focus on the safe management and evaluation of controlled drugs within long-term care settings. The pharmacy operates on a second shift schedule with two staffing options available: 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM with every other weekend required A 7-on/7-off schedule, Monday through Sunday, 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM Immediate start is available for qualified candidates. An active Ohio pharmacist license is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely handle and manage controlled substances, ensuring compliance with legal and security regulations Review and evaluate medication orders for accuracy, dosage appropriateness, potential interactions, and proper administration Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and healthcare teams to recommend therapy modifications as needed Maintain comprehensive medication and patient clinical records, including medical history and laboratory data Investigate and resolve any medication-related inquiries, providing expert guidance to healthcare providers Supervise the preparation and dispensing of medications in line with quality standards Keep accurate registers of controlled drugs for stock and legal control purposes Participate in on-call duties as required to provide continuous supportDesired Experience and Qualifications:
Licensed Pharmacist in Ohio with current registration in good standing Proven experience working with narcotics and controlled substances within a clinical pharmacy setting Strong knowledge of medication therapy management and drug interaction assessment Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams Ability to maintain meticulous documentation and ensure regulatory compliance Experience with Frameworks system preferred but not mandatory This Direct Hire opportunity offers a chance to contribute to an important long-term care operation dedicated to medication safety and patient care.
