Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract Two Staff Pharmacist opportunities are available to support inpatient pharmacy services at a hospital in Ohio. These contract roles provide a chance to apply advanced clinical skills in a busy healthcare setting serving an average daily census of approximately 120 patients within a 222-bed licensed facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify inpatient medication orders with attention to accuracy and safety Oversee sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous compounding procedures Participate in emergency codes and provide prompt pharmaceutical support Collaborate closely with nursing and provider staff to optimize medication management Dispense medications and provide patient education when necessary Utilize the Cerner electronic health record system for order entry and documentation; training is available Support pharmacy technicians in medication preparation and delivery to ensure smooth pharmacy operationsQualifications and Experience:
Current Ohio Pharmacist license is required Proven inpatient hospital pharmacy experience, including familiarity with computerized provider order entry (CPOE) Strong pharmacotherapy knowledge with emphasis on antibiotic and renal dosing Skilled in time management and prioritization to handle a fast-paced work environment Experience or willingness to work with hospital automation systems such asPyxis ADC Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Coverage includes every sixth weekend rotation These contract positions run from late May through mid-August, offering stability and meaningful impact during the summer season.
