Travel We're hiring a licensed pharmacist for a contract position in Lancaster, OH at a hospital where you will use clinical expertise to ensure safe and thoughtful distribution of medications to patients across inpatient services. Responsibilities include verifying inpatient medication orders, providing verification and oversight of compounding processes (sterile, non-sterile, hazardous), attending codes, supporting nursing and provider staff with medication management, dispensing medications, and providing patient education as needed. Tech support prepares and delivers medications and assists with overall pharmacy operations. One day of hospital orientation is required prior to start; pharmacy training will be catered to experience level. Local candidates only. Minimum Qualifications:
Active Ohio Pharmacist License required. Inpatient hospital experience required, including order verification via CPOE, compounding oversight (sterile, non-sterile, hazardous), and participation in codes. Pharmacotherapy knowledge with experience in antibiotic and renal dosing. Experience with time management and prioritization in an acute care pharmacy setting. Familiarity with automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis) preferred. Competence or willingness to be trained on Cerner EHR order entry system. Required pre-employment/site-specific HR credentials prior to start: HIPAA training; review and attestation to CPS Code of Conduct; background checks including education verification and BCI; 10-panel drug screen; TB screening (2-step or Quantiferon/T-Spot); MMR & Varicella (2 vaccines or titer); Tdap; Hep B; color-blindness test; Ohio license verification; CPR certification; required competencies and hospital forms.
Preferred Qualifications:
6 months or more recent pharmacist experience in an inpatient hospital environment. Prior experience supporting cancer care and infusion pharmacy workflows (not required to staff these areas).
Assignment Details Coverage hours:
Monday-Friday 0700-1530 plus every 6th weekend. One day of hospital orientation required prior to start.
Site automation:
Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets.
Order entry system:
Cerner EHR (training available).
Staff size:
