We are a retail pharmacy that specializes in naturopathic and integrative compounded medications. CCP is one of the largest compounding pharmacies in the Northwest. We ship not only to patients in Oregon, but we regularly fill and ship compounded prescriptions to patients across the U.S. In addition to being a large retail pharmacy, CCP is developing and expanding to include other services, education, and conferences to assist other small pharmacies. Position Description The Staff Pharmacist dispenses prescription medications, provides information to patients about the medications they use, and advises prescribers on the selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects of medications. The Staff Pharmacist complies with all applicable laws, regulations and pharmacy policies and procedures pertaining to the dispensing of medications and documentation of pharmacist activities. This position will be scheduled to work one to three day shifts per week and may be able to pick up additional shifts on occasion. The Staff Pharmacist reports to the Pharmacist in Charge. This position requires being a Licensed Pharmacist in good standing in the State of Oregon, and having computer, telephone, and interpersonal skills as described below. Primary Responsibilities The essential functions of the Staff Pharmacist include, but are not limited to: Performing checks on prescriptions going to into the lab. Receiving new prescriptions from doctors. Checking and responding to voicemails and emails from providers and patients. Offering clinical experience in consulting with doctors. Providing consultation to patients on all new prescriptions and prescriptions with changes. Providing guidance to CCP staff technicians and answering their questions. Documenting pharmacist activities as required by pertinent laws, regulations and/or pharmacy policies/procedures using the pharmacy software system. Making recommendations to the Pharmacist in Charge and/or the President on how products or workflow can be improved. Creating and entering new formulas into the pharmacy software, and checking new formulas created by other pharmacists. Contributing to the creation and improvement of the pharmacy's policies, procedures, and processes. Attending monthly pharmacist meetings and other meetings as required. Opening or closing the CCP building at the beginning or end of the day. Other Duties Non-essential functions include, but are not limited to: Other duties as assigned. HIPAA Requirements The Staff Pharmacist will be exposed to PHI in the course of their duties and must handle protected health information (PHI) in a manner consistent with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and subsequent related laws and CCP policies. Applying the minimum necessary standard of HIPAA, the designated record sets to which this employee may have access include: all information in the patient profile and prescription information. All employees are required to read the content of these records only to the extent needed to accomplish the assigned task. Qualifications Active Pharmacist license issued by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy is required. Two or more years of work experience as a licensed pharmacist is preferred. Experience working for a compounding pharmacy is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent customer service skills. Professional communication style and ability to work well with all types of individuals. Excellent verbal (telephone and in-person) and written communication skills. Proficient with Google applications and Microsoft Offices Suite. The ability to multi-task, handle competing priorities, and prioritize time-sensitive tasks. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality, as appropriate. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team. Physical and Mental Demands This is primarily an office-based position, which requires sitting or standing continuously. Light lifting (up to 25lbs) is infrequently required. Dexterity and use of hands is required continuously for typing, use of a phone, and use of a mouse and computer keyboard. Visual acuity to allow for reading a computer screen, printed information, and reports, etc., is frequently necessary. Talking and hearing is required frequently. Concentrating and analyzing information is continuously required. Decision-making abilities are frequently exercised. Immunization Staff members must meet immunization requirements as stated in CCP's immunization policy and state and federal guidelines.
