Staff Pharmacist

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A hospital-based role is available for a licensed Staff Pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical care during daytime shifts from May 4 to August 1. This contract position offers the opportunity to apply clinical skills in a university healthcare setting, supporting patient care and medication safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Review medication orders from physicians and physician extenders to ensure appropriateness of drug choice, dose, frequency, and administration route Assess patient allergies, medical history, potential drug interactions, and relevant lab results to identify clinical conflicts before dispensing Manage medication inventory control to maintain safe and adequate stock levels Provide drug information and clinical support to healthcare team members Supervise pharmacy students and technicians, ensuring accuracy and safety in medication preparation Collaborate with the healthcare team on care planning and discharge activities, contributing to quality patient outcomes

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree from a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (required); Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred Valid Pennsylvania Pharmacist License (required) Minimum of 1 year hospital experience or completion of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in a clinical setting preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred but not mandatory
