Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical care in a hospital setting. This role requires thorough medication management, collaboration with healthcare providers, and oversight of pharmacy staff to ensure safe and effective medication use.

Starting 5/4 through 8/1
Key Responsibilities:
Review medication orders from physicians and extenders for accuracy, appropriateness of drug choice, dosage, frequency, and administration route. Assess patient medical history, allergies, drug interactions, and laboratory data to identify potential clinical conflicts. Dispense medications while ensuring patient safety and maintaining accurate records. Manage inventory control within the pharmacy department. Provide drug information and clinical support to healthcare team members. Supervise pharmacy students and technicians involved in medication preparation, guaranteeing precision and compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with the healthcare team on patient care planning, including the continuum of care and discharge planning.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (required). Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree preferred. Minimum of 1 year hospital pharmacy experience or completed Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in a clinical setting preferred. Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License (required).
