Job Summary:
Application Analysts
  • Pharmacist(s) have primary responsibility for system build, testing, validation, and ongoing support of assigned applications; Responsible for obtaining and maintaining in-depth knowledge of the software functionality and acquiring knowledge of the workflows relevant to assigned applications to be implemented on the system.
Jointly with each other and with the assigned department representatives, they participate in future state workflow review and development and build the system to support the new workflow working collaboratively with each other in workgroups, and across interdisciplinary workgroups, to accomplish these goals as a team.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Participate in application design, validation, and advanced design sessions within assigned area.
  • Design/implement future-state workflows by interacting with department representatives to analyze needs then translate these into system design.
  • Design, build, and validate the application to conform to desired workflows.
  • Participate in Epic testing as developed and directed by the team; document test results.
  • Support end-users onsite during go-live events, provide on-call support to end-users on a scheduled basis.
  • Maintain system documentation to enable ongoing support of the system.
  • Review/test new builds and releases prior to implementation in the production environment.
  • Identify potential system enhancement need.
  • Decision Making:
    Independent judgment in making decisions from many diversified alternatives that are subject to general review in final stages only.
  • Working Relationships:
    Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise). Leads others in same work performed (does not supervise).
  • Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction.
  • Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction.
  • Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
  • Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
  • Special Job Dimensions:
    Ability to travel as required for Epic training.
  • Ability to travel to remote work sites as needed.
Required Education:
  • Bachelor''s Degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy or Pharm.
