Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A remote opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist (CPS) to provide expert clinical pharmacy services in a managed care environment. This role focuses on delivering coordinated, high-quality, evidence-based, and cost-effective care through collaboration with medical directors, nurse case managers, physicians, and other healthcare providers.

Remote (Preference for candidates licensed in Oregon, Washington, or California)

Contract Schedule:
Monday through Friday, with rare weekend work required a few times per year
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver medication therapy management (MTM) and direct patient care Participate in population-based disease management and specialty pharmaceutical coordination Conduct drug utilization reviews and contribute to the development of clinical policies Collaborate on Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee activities Review pharmacy and medical claims, assess cases, and educate members and caregivers Develop medication-related problem lists and implement action plans with healthcare providers Provide education and consultation to physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals Develop and apply drug medical policies to promote safe, quality, and cost-effective pharmaceutical use
Qualifications:
Valid Pharmacist license in OR, WA, or CA is required Minimum of 3 years' experience in a managed care setting including familiarity with prior authorizations, audits, appeals, and ALJ court hearings Strong communication skills to effectively relay therapeutic recommendations to physicians Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic healthcare environment Commitment to continuous professional development and education This position offers the chance to impact patient outcomes positively while working in a supportive, fast-paced managed care setting.
