Job Description

The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for the pharmaceutical care of all patients at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The Clinical Pharmacist must use knowledge and professional judgment to make clinical decisions concerning patient drug therapy. The Clinical Pharmacist will practice within a multidisciplinary healthcare team across a variety of practice settings to care for patients. The Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the medication use process. Finally, the Clinical Pharmacist will participate in educating pharmacy students and residents. Other duties as assigned.
Education:
B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree with required internship; completion of a clinical residency program preferred. Must be licensed by State of Tennessee. TN Pharmacist license required.
Experience:
One-year experience as a pharmacist in a hospital setting preferred. Must have thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical drug distribution systems and pharmacotherapy concepts in order to resolve drug therapy related problems; must have ability to communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals.
