Summary:
The Director Medication Use Management, Oncology is responsible for system level coordination of pharmacy services to support the Oncology Service Line. This position will oversee utilization of medications used within the oncology patient population to identify and support development of medication use guidelines, policies, or protocols that drive optimal medication use. They will lead all aspects of oncology-related Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee functions to include formulary management and oversight, facilitation of oncology sub-committee work, and development of drug monographs, MUEs, formulary reviews, pharmacoeconomic analyses, and best practice recommendations to the committee. This position will monitor external trends/strategies in managing utilization to help identify opportunities for stewardship of high cost or high use medications within the oncology patient population to limit waste, generate revenue, or reduce the overall cost of care and will execute approved action plans and track their progress over time. The Director Medication Use Management, Oncology will engage in professional self-development, scholarly, and professional activities and will also shape the next generation of pharmacy leaders by mentoring current staff, students and participants of our ASHP accredited residency programs. This position will engage in strategic partnership with Oncology Service Line leaders, represent Pharmacy Services on system level oncology-related committees, and collaborate on departmental and inter-professional initiatives. This person will be able to communicate at the highest professional level with physicians, nurses and other professional staff when discussing medication use strategies.
Requirements:
Must be a graduate of an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy with an advanced pharmacy degree (e.g. Pharm.

D.) and: • PGY-2 in a Pharmaceutical Specialty, or • PGY-1 with demonstrated responsibility and experience in drug therapy evidence assessment and/or formulary management as well as direct supervision and successful development of front line staff. Minimum of twelve (12) years' of progressively responsible oncology-related experience in health system pharmacy and leading pharmacy and therapeutics and/or clinical programs. At least four (4) years' must be in direct supervision and successful development of front-line staff. Prior multi-site or system level experience preferred. Experience with clinical program development and data analytics preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
• Must hold or be eligible to hold a pharmacy license in the State of Tennessee and Virginia. Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Certification in at least one discipline.
