Full Job Description Position Title:
Part-Time Pharmacist Position Summary The Part-Time Pharmacist is responsible for accurately dispensing medications, counseling patients, reviewing prescriptions for accuracy and safety, and ensuring compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations. The Pharmacist will work closely with physicians, medical providers, staff, and patients to promote safe and effective medication management while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and professionalism. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, highly organized, and committed to providing exceptional pharmaceutical care. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPharmacy Operations Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions. Dispense medications accurately and efficiently. Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations. Maintain proper inventory control of medications and supplies. Monitor medication expiration dates and storage requirements. Assist with ordering and receiving pharmaceutical inventory. Maintain accurate medication records and documentation. Patient Care Counsel patients regarding medication usage, dosage, side effects, and interactions. Answer patient questions regarding prescriptions and over-the-counter medications. Provide education regarding medication compliance and safety. Assist patients with medication management and treatment plans. Address patient concerns in a professional and compassionate manner. Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards. Maintain all required pharmacy licenses and certifications. Adhere to company policies and pharmacy best practices. Monitor controlled substance compliance and reporting requirements. Participate in quality assurance and medication safety initiatives. Collaboration Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, chiropractors, medical assistants, and administrative staff. Communicate with healthcare providers regarding prescription clarifications and medication recommendations. Assist with patient care coordination when necessary. QualificationsRequired Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited pharmacy program. Current and unrestricted Pharmacist License in the State of Texas. Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical therapies, drug interactions, and medication safety. Excellent communication and patient service skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Previous retail, clinical, or specialty pharmacy experience. Experience working within a medical practice or personal injury setting. Familiarity with electronic pharmacy systems and EMR platforms. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
