This pivotal role involves overseeing daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and delivering exceptional patient care. As the Pharmacist in Charge, you will serve as the primary clinical and operational leader, driving initiatives that enhance medication safety, optimize patient outcomes, and foster a collaborative environment. Your leadership will inspire confidence among staff and patients alike, ensuring our pharmacy remains a trusted healthcare provider within the community. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing, inventory control, and staff supervision. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws, including HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Oversee medication preparation and aseptic techniques to guarantee safety and accuracy. Collaborate with healthcare providers on medical management strategies. Maintain accurate records within electronic health record (EHR) systems and pharmacy software to ensure seamless documentation of patient care activities. Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff to uphold high standards of patient service and operational efficiency. Requirements Valid pharmacist license in good standing with comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy practice standards. Proven experience in LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy or hospital settings with a focus on acute care or critical care environments. Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration protocols. Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records). Expertise in preparing medications and aseptic techniques. Knowledge of inventory management practices to ensure optimal stock levels while minimizing waste. Excellent communication skills for patient service delivery and interdisciplinary collaboration. Experience working within HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality at all times.
Pay:
$52.00 - $70.00 per hour
