Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract A clinical pharmacist role is available at a well-regarded women's healthcare site specializing in inpatient care. This overnight position offers a 14-week contract starting mid-May, working a 7-on/7-off schedule from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM. The position involves utilizing EPIC electronic medical records to manage patient medication processes effectively. Key responsibilities include promoting pharmaceutical care by managing medication processes, identifying, and resolving drug-related issues across a patient age range from newborns to adults. Ensuring medication doses are appropriate based on diagnosis, patient weight, allergies, and drug interactions is essential. Accuracy in entering medication orders and verification to prevent dispensing errors are critical duties. The pharmacist will also oversee medication order processing and delivery within clinical guidelines and promote strict adherence to aseptic technique and infection control during sterile product preparation.
Desired qualifications and experience:
Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably with pediatric patients Valid Texas pharmacist license ACPE IV Certification Proven ability to ensure medication safety and accuracy in dosing and order entry Commitment to aseptic technique and infection control standards, with the ability to support pharmacy staff in compliance
