Full Job Description SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PRN/Part-Time Staff Pharmacist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail pharmacy operations and possess expertise in sterile and non-sterile compounding. As a Staff Pharmacist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, providing exceptional customer service, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care. This role requires excellent attention to detail, a solid understanding of pharmaceutical regulations, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Review and interpret physician orders to ensure appropriate drug selection, dosage, and route of administration.
  • Conduct patient consultations, addressing any concerns, questions, or medication-related issues.
  • Supervise and perform sterile and non-sterile compounding of medications in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels and monitor medication storage conditions to ensure quality and safety.
  • Follows through with mandates by the company as suggested by the Pharmacist-in-Charge.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as physicians and nurses, to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes.
  • Provide counseling on medication usage, side effects, and precautions to patients and caregivers.
  • Perform medication therapy management (MTM) services, including medication reviews, adherence monitoring, and patient education.
  • Stay updated on current pharmaceutical trends, new drugs, and treatment protocols through continuous professional development and self-study.
  • Adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements, including maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Provide guidance and support to pharmacy technicians and other support staff.
  • Oversee the workflow in the pharmacy and ensure that tasks are delegated appropriately.
  • Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems .
QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. in Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy (Pharm.

D.) degree from an accredited institution. Current pharmacist license in Texas, in good standing Minimum of 2 years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting. Extensive knowledge of pharmacy law, regulations, and standards of practice. Demonstrated experience in sterile and non-sterile compounding. Strong understanding of medication therapy and drug interactions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and technology.
