Job Description
Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract A Clinical Pharmacist is needed to provide expert inpatient pharmacy services at a regional medical center in Chesapeake, VA. This contracting opportunity begins Tuesday, May 26, shortly after Labor Day, and lasts approximately 13 weeks with rotating shifts. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of inpatient pharmacy experience, with strong expertise in IV therapy, pain management using controlled analgesia, antibiotics, drug interactions, medication order entry, and order verification. Experience with chemotherapy protocols, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing is highly preferred. Travel pharmacy experience is also valued for this role. Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) charting is mandatory to ensure seamless documentation and communication.
Key qualifications and experience:
Minimum 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience required IV therapy, pain-controlled analgesia, antibiotics administration knowledge required Skilled in medication order entry and verification Familiarity with drug interactions in a clinical setting Preferred experience: chemotherapy, anticoagulation treatments, pharmacokinetic and renal dosingEPIC EMR
