Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract An inpatient pharmacist opportunity is available for a 13-week contract starting Tuesday, May 26. The position involves working rotating shifts at a hospital setting within the Norfolk, VA area, serving the needs of hospital inpatients with a variety of medication therapies.
Shift times include:
Day Shifts:
06:30-15:00, 07:30-16:00, 09:00-17:30, 10:00-18:30
Evening Shifts:
13:00-21:30, 14:30-23:00
Overnight Shifts:
19:30-07:30, 20:30-07:30 Essential qualifications and experience: Current Virginia pharmacist license must be in hand at time of application. Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience required. Proficiency with IV therapy, pain controlled analgesia, antibiotics, drug interactions, medication order entry, and order verification. Experience with chemotherapy, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing is preferred. EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience is mandatory. Responsibilities will include accurate medication order review, verification, and monitoring; providing guidance on drug interactions and dosing; and supporting multidisciplinary patient care teams to optimize pharmacotherapy outcomes. Preferred candidates will have prior travel pharmacy experience and demonstrated adaptability in fast-paced inpatient environments. This contract role requires immediate availability and responsiveness to placement requests.
