  • Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract An inpatient pharmacist opportunity is available at a well-established medical center in Norfolk, VA, for a 13-week contract starting Tuesday, May 26.
Evening or overnight shifts are available, allowing you to select the schedule that best fits your lifestyle:
Evening:
3:00 PM
  • 11:30
PM Overnight:
8:30 PM
  • 7:30 AM (Monday
  • Thursday) and 7:30 PM
  • 7:30 AM (Friday
  • Sunday), working 7 nights on followed by 7 nights off Key responsibilities include verifying medication orders, managing drug interactions, and providing essential support for pain-controlled analgesia, antibiotics, and IV medications.
Familiarity with chemotherapy, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing is preferred to enhance patient care. Candidates must hold a valid Virginia pharmacist license at the time of application. Experience with inpatient pharmacy settings for at least one year is required, and prior travel pharmacy assignments are a plus. Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records is mandatory.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Virginia pharmacist license (required at submission) Minimum 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience Demonstrated expertise with IV medications, pain control, antibiotics, and order verification Prior exposure to chemotherapy, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic and renal dosing (preferred) Proficient with
EPIC EMR
system (required) Travel pharmacy experience (preferred)
