Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract An inpatient pharmacist opportunity is available for a 13-week contract starting June 29 in Norfolk, VA. This role supports a regional medical center with comprehensive pharmacy services across multiple shifting schedules in a dynamic hospital environment.
Shift options include:
Day:
0630-1500, 0730-1600, 0900-1730, 1000-1830
Evening:
1300-2130, 1430-2300
Overnight:
1930-0730, 2030-0730 Responsibilities include verifying medication orders, managing drug interactions, order entry, and administering antibiotics, pain controlled analgesia, and IV medications. Candidates with chemotherapy handling, anticoagulant management, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing skills are preferred.
Essential qualifications:
Current Virginia pharmacist license in hand upon submittal (mandatory) Minimum 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience; travel pharmacy experience desirable Proficient with
EPIC EMR
charting system (mandatory) Strong knowledge of IV therapy, pain management, antibiotics, and drug interactions This position demands adaptability to rotating and extended shifts with critical inpatient care for diverse patient populations. Experience in a fast-paced hospital pharmacy setting is vital to success.
