• Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract A healthcare facility in Portsmouth, VA, is seeking a skilled Clinical Pharmacist for an immediate 13-week contract role.

This opportunity allows you to select an evening or overnight shift based on your preference.

Schedule options include:

Evening:

3:00 PM

• 11:30

PM Overnight:

8:30 PM

• 7:30 AM (Monday
• Thursday) and 7:30 PM
• 7:30 AM (Friday
• Sunday) with a 7 nights on/7 nights off rotation Key responsibilities include verifying medication orders, managing IV medications, monitoring pain-controlled analgesia, antibiotic stewardship, and assessing drug interactions.

Order entry and clinical decision support are integral to this role. Additional preferred skills include chemotherapy protocols, anticoagulant management, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing adjustments.

Qualifications & Experience:

Must hold a valid Virginia Pharmacist license at the time of application (non-negotiable) Minimum 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience required; travel pharmacy experience is a plus Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical record system required This role requires strong clinical acumen and experience working in fast-paced inpatient settings. Candidates with specialized medication knowledge and dose adjustment expertise will excel.
