Relief Pharmacist Blue Ridge Apothecary Roanoke, VA Job Details Part-time $60 an hour 2 hours ago Qualifications Licensed Pharmacist — Virginia Pharmacy operations Full Job Description Blue Ridge Apothecary is a compounding-only pharmacy serving Southwest and Central Virginia for over 25 years. We play an active role in the triangle formed between the patient, health care provider, and pharmacy; we believe the most effective treatment decisions result from this relationship. Our Pharmacy staff are an integral part of providing quality compounding products, and we are looking for additional individuals who would like to further their careers at Blue Ridge Apothecary. The Relief Pharmacist is responsible for covering single-day operations of the assigned facility while ensuring compliance with appropriate legal and regulatory requirements, including supervision of any all employees working at the facility, as well ensuring proper opening and closing of the assigned facility. They work to meet patient and provider needs and handle inquiries professionally. The Relief Pharmacist further contributes to the Pharmacy's overall goals by reporting any concerns to the Supervising Pharmacist and/or PIC. Responsibilities
  • Supervise preparation of USP 795 and 800 compounded medications by licensed Pharmacy Technicians in accordance with established policies and procedures: Verify chemical lot numbers per log sheet, measure and/or weigh ingredients, mix medications, place final product in appropriate dispensing device(s), affix proper labels, and ensure quality checks by Technicians and self
  • Ensure proper opening and closing of the assigned facility
  • Supervise Pharmacy Technicians, clerks, and other employees at assigned facility
  • Verify and assure accuracy of data input, compounding, prescription dispensing, and patient counselling on the assigned day
  • Promptly report to Supervising Pharmacist and/or PIC all problems/issues requiring additional assistance or attention
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of all patient and proprietary information
  • Support the customer service counter and phone as needed
