Job Description

Category Pharmacy•Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract An inpatient pharmacist opportunity is available for a 13-week contract starting May 26th. Candidates can select from evening or overnight shifts, serving a hospital setting with a focus on inpatient pharmacy care. This role requires a current Virginia pharmacist license at the time of application and expertise in hospital pharmacy operations.

Evening Shift:
3:00 PM•11:30
PM Overnight Shift:
8:30 PM•7:30 AM Monday-Thursday, 7:30 PM•7:30 AM Friday-Sunday (7 nights on/7 nights off)
Key Responsibilities:
Verify and process medication orders accurately, including IV drugs, pain-controlled analgesia, antibiotics, and drug interactions. Utilize EMR systems, specifically EPIC, for medication order entry and patient charting. Support patient care with pharmacokinetic and renal dosing, anticoagulants management, and chemotherapy medications (preferred). Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal pharmacological care for inpatient populations.
Qualifications:
Current Virginia pharmacist license (required at submission). Minimum 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience; previous travel pharmacy experience is a plus. Proven experience with IV medications, antibiotic stewardship, and pain management protocols. Familiarity with
EPIC EMR
software (mandatory). Strong knowledge of chemotherapy, anticoagulants, and dose adjustments preferred.
