- Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract An immediate opportunity is available for an Inpatient Pharmacist at a well-established medical center in Virginia Beach, VA.
This 13-week contract position offers a critical role in supporting patient care through expert medication management across rotating shifts. Candidates must have their Virginia pharmacist license ready at the time of application to be considered.
Schedule/Hours:
Rotating shifts Day shifts: 6:30 AM
- 3:00 PM, 7:30 AM
- 4:00 PM, 9:00 AM
- 5:30 PM, 10:00 AM
- 6:30 PM Evening shifts: 1:00 PM
- 9:30 PM, 2:30 PM
- 11:00 PM Overnight shifts: 7:30 PM
- 7:30 AM, 8:30 PM
- 7:30
AM Key Responsibilities:
Review and verify medication orders with accuracy and clinical judgement Manage IV medications, pain control analgesia, antibiotics, and drug interactions Enter orders and maintain detailed medication records in EPIC electronic medical records Participate in pharmacokinetic and renal dosing, with preferred experience in chemotherapy and anticoagulants Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize inpatient medication therapy
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Virginia pharmacist license (must be in hand at submittal) Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience; travel pharmacy experience is a plus Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records required Strong background in IV therapies, ordering, and verification practices This contract is ideal for pharmacists seeking a dynamic inpatient role where their expertise directly impacts patient outcomes in a fast-paced hospital environment.
