Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Staff Pharmacist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care through expert medication management and clinical services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your comprehensive pharmacy knowledge in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will ensure the safe, effective, and efficient dispensing of medications while providing personalized patient service and clinical support across various care settings. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes, supporting their health and well-being every step of the way. Responsibilities Dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all legal and safety standards. Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy, including reviewing medical histories and current treatments. Provide expert consultation on medication management, including compounding medications and IV infusions, to optimize therapeutic outcomes. Administer immunizations and oversee medication administration procedures in accordance with protocols. Utilize pharmacy software, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems to document patient interactions and medication records precisely. Manage inventory levels effectively, including ordering supplies, controlling stock, and maintaining aseptic techniques for sterile preparations. Support medical management initiatives by collaborating with healthcare providers on pain management, pediatrics, critical care, and acute care cases. Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information at all times. Assist in training pharmacy technicians and supporting staff to uphold high standards of patient service and pharmacy operations. Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, including sterile technique for IV insertion and infusion procedures while ensuring safety standards are met. Experience Prior experience working in LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy or hospital settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated clinical pharmacy experience with a focus on critical care or acute care environments. Completion of a pharmacy residency program is advantageous for this role. Proven ability to perform patient assessments, medication reviews, and medical management in diverse healthcare settings. Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology principles relevant to patient care. Experience with compounding medications using aseptic techniques and managing IV infusions or injections. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Previous roles involving immunizations or vaccination programs are beneficial. Pharmacy technician experience is valuable for supporting daily operations efficiently. $70.00 - $74.00 per hour
