Job Description

We are a growing team in need of a quality pharmacist to help bring it all together. We are also now proudly using Pioneer Rx as our processing software as well as numerous other technology upgrades Responsibilities Review and execute physician's prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster Maintain full control over delivering, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient Keep records of patient history and of all activities regarding heavy medication Have a positive attitude and a good sense of humor Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations and procedures Review prescriptions to assure accuracy, to ascertain the needed ingredients, and to evaluate their suitability. Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage. Maintain records such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, control records for narcotics, and controlled drugs. Responsible for the accountability of dispensing prescription medications to patients as prescribed by physicians, maintenance of accurate records and providing expertise in the safe use of prescription medications Plan, implement, and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals according to policy and legal requirements to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal. Provide specialized services to help patients manage conditions such as diabetes, asthma, smoking cessation, and high blood pressure. Offer health promotion and prevention activities by, for example, training people to use devices such as blood pressure and diabetes monitors. Advise customers on the selection of medication brands, medical equipment, and health care supplies. Collaborate with other health care professionals to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of drugs and drug regimens, providing advice on drug applications and characteristics. Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and to prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions. Order and purchase pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies, and drugs. Maintaining stock and storing and handling it properly. Monitoring customers' drug therapies, advising interventions, and educating patients, caregivers, staff and other professionals regarding appropriate medication use and any potential side effects. Responsible for reviewing prescribed medications performing clinical and drug utilization reviews and clinical/economic evaluation of therapies and writing criteria sets for medications that have a prior authorization attached to them. Help create an optimal environment to facilitate non-dispensing activities (i.e. immunizations, Medication Therapy Management (MTM), specialty medications care management, population health initiatives conducting health and wellness screenings, etc.). Furthermore, assist in the overall administrative duties of operating a retail pharmacy, including pricing, compiling statistics, and writing administrative policies and procedures. Consult and advise the customers on their medications, both prescription and non-prescription, in a manner that will provide for their total well-being ensuring compliance with all federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations. Requirements Proven experience as a pharmacist Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands etc. Good organizing skills Excellent communication skills with a customer oriented approach Integrity and compassion Bachelor's Degree is required in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Science or PharmD or RPH degree Valid Washington license to practice the profession •
Pay:
$66.00 - $70.00 per hour
