New England Life Care currently has an opening for a Hemophilia Treatment Center Program Coordinator. This position typically works Monday through Friday from 8:00am until 5:00pm on-site in our Canton, MA Pharmacy Branch. There is an on-call and weekend rotation.
Summary:
Under the supervision and direction of a licensed hemophilia pharmacist, the person in this position is responsible for the onboarding of new hemophilia patients, processing of new hemophilia orders, refilling existing hemophilia orders, contacting patients for routine assessments, and assisting the pharmacist in all other operational tasks. In addition, the Program Coordinator is responsible for organizing the daily operation of the Hemophilia Treatment Center, including but not limited to inventory maintenance, staff duty scheduling, delegation, new hire training coordination, communication coordination between other staff, and other duties as assigned by the Hemophilia Treatment Center Pharmacy Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:
Assists the Clinical Pharmacist(s) in providing pharmaceutical management of hemophilia for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly enrolled in 340b program. Accurately compiles initial patient profile and verifies eligibility for Hemophilia program. Collaborates with
MGH/BWH/CHB
hemophilia program coordinators to ensure all relevant paperwork is completed and uploaded appropriately. Demonstrates the ability to identify and understand the variable dosage requirements of different age groups. Understands the need to consult with the pharmacist if questions / concerns arise. Accurately labels, packages and stores products prior to shipment to patients in accordance with all federal and state regulations, USP 797 and 800 standards and NELC policies and procedures. Assists pharmacists with review of current inventory as well as the assays available on most recent Factor Potency Reports from the respective manufacturers to order required inventory in accordance with each specific prior authorization. Obtain authorizations to order factor/Hemlibra by collaborating with respective billing teams to verify insurance eligibility Demonstrate competence and ability to teach prescription processing in the pharmacy EMR. Assists with inventory management functions involving purchasing and receiving drug shipments as well as computer system inventory maintenance.
Educational/Regulatory/Professional Requirements:
Bachelor's High School Diploma or equivalent required. Three (3) years (minimum) experience in IV admixtures using an IV laminar flow hood in hospital or homecare setting required. Certification/Licensure as Pharmacy Technician as required by state specific Board of Pharmacy regulations. Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Ability to perform accurate dosage calculations when filling various prescriptions for all age populations required. Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instruction provided in written, oral and diagram formats required. Ability to recognize inappropriate dosing based on available dosing forms for various age groups required. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and customers required. Excellent organizational skills required. Knowledge / practical experience with microcomputer systems such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) required.
