Job Title:
Pharmacy Assistant Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant to support billing and accounts receivable operations for Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily census reports, handling pharmacy and medical insurance claims, and communicating effectively with insurance providers and customers. Responsibilities Support billing and accounts receivable operations for LTC pharmacy services. Accurately manage and maintain daily census reports. Submit and follow up on pharmacy and medical insurance claims, including commercial pharmacy claims, Medicare Part B, and Medicaid (Hospice). Communicate with insurance providers to verify benefits and resolve claim issues. Work with major payers such as Optum and Caremark. Answer inbound customer service calls and address billing inquiries. Take patient or facility payments over the phone. Prepare and process daily deposits. Utilize pharmacy billing systems (Frameworks experience preferred; training provided). Draft and respond to professional email communications. Perform light administrative and reporting tasks using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Essential Skills 1-3 years of experience in a pharmacy, medical billing, or healthcare administrative role. Strong customer service skills. High attention to detail, especially with daily census tracking. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word). Comfort working with insurance claims and payer follow-ups. Ability to learn new pharmacy billing systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy experience preferred. Exposure to hospice billing. Experience with Medicare Part B billing. Familiarity with pharmacy payers such as Optum and Caremark. No certifications required. Work Environment Join a team of 4 full-time employees with a mix of remote and onsite work. The role is fully in-person with significant phone interaction. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlantic Highlands, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
