No County Rockland Street Address Rockland Psychiatric Center 140 Old Orangeburg Road City Orangeburg State NY Zip Code 10962 Duties Description Rockland Psychiatric Center is recruiting for a Pharmacy Aide to assist their licensed pharmacists in preparing pharmaceutical orders. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply. As a pharmacy aide, your duties will include:
  • Unpacking, sorting, and counting pharmaceutical supplies for storage/distribution
  • Maintaining pharmacy records
  • Generating reports
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; and either o 1 year of experience assisting with the filling of medical prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist; or o Current pharmacy technician certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board; or o Certificate or diploma from a pharmacy technician training program accredited b the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
OR Candidates from outside or within State service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Pharmacy Aide eligible list. OR Candidates from within State service may be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
