Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist - Retail Job Type Per Diem A well-established retail pharmacy network in the Tucson, AZ area is seeking a team of 2-3 experienced per diem pharmacists to provide coverage for call outs, vacations, and volume fluctuations. This opportunity allows for a flexible part-time schedule, ideal for pharmacists looking to work 2-4 days per week while making a meaningful impact in community pharmacy settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Dispense prescription medications accurately and provide patient counseling in a retail pharmacy environment. Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and staff to ensure efficient operations. Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations. Administer immunizations under current privileges. Participate in ongoing training to prepare for pharmacist-only sites and maintain proficiency with QS1 pharmacy software. Support pharmacies handling an average of 100-125 prescriptions per day.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years of retail pharmacy experience required. Valid immunization certification and current Basic Life Support (BLS) card. Familiarity with QS1 pharmacy software preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently at pharmacist-only locations. Commitment to excellent customer service and patient safety.
Location:
Tucson, Arizona area, with multiple pharmacies available, including sites on Oracle Rd., Flowing Wells Rd., Sunrise Dr., Thornydale Rd., Swan Rd., Irvington Rd., and River Road. The primary pharmacy operations run Monday through Saturday, typically 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with some locations open until 8:00 p.m. This per diem role offers the flexibility to balance your schedule while gaining team support and comprehensive initial training, including a dedicated 8-hour shift to get acquainted with workflows.
