Position Title:

Monday-Friday, 8-hour day shifts
Hours/day:
8 hrs
Contract Duration:
up to 13 weeks with high extension possibilities!
License Requirement:
Active California Pharmacist License Certification Requirement:
BLS (American Heart Association)
Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and patient-focused Retail Pharmacist to oversee and support pharmacy operations in a retail healthcare setting. In this role, you will ensure safe and effective medication dispensing, provide patient counseling, and maintain compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills.
Duties:
Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, and interactions. Dispense medications and provide patient counseling on drug usage, side effects, and storage. Compound and prepare medications as required. Oversee pharmacy technicians and support staff in daily operations. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations. Ensure proper storage, handling, and security of medications, including controlled substances. Manage pharmacy inventory, ordering, and recordkeeping systems. Resolve third-party insurance and prescription processing issues. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Provide excellent customer service and address patient concerns professionally. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to optimize patient care. Participate in quality assurance, safety protocols, and medication error reporting. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the pharmacy environment.
Qualifications:
Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of California (required). Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.

D. from an accredited institution. Current BLS certification (AHA) required. Minimum 1 year of pharmacist experience preferred. Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical practices, drug interactions, and regulations. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Ability to manage workflow in a retail pharmacy setting. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
