Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An interim leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy at a 70-bed Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital. This role involves comprehensive oversight of the pharmacy department and serving as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for the site. The position is contract-based with potential to transition into a permanent role.
Location:
Chula Vista, CA (San Diego area)
Contract Duration:
13 weeks + with the possibility of temp-to-hire
Schedule:
Monday through Friday Day shifts
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and management for the pharmacy operations to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and high-quality patient care Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge, assuming full accountability for pharmacy services Oversee medication management, dispensing procedures, and staff supervision Utilize RX Connect information system effectively for pharmacy processes Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize therapeutic outcomes and support clinical initiatives
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Licensed Pharmacist in California with active license Proven experience as Director of Pharmacy within California healthcare settings Strong knowledge of LTAC pharmacy operations and regulatory requirements Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Proficiency in pharmacy information systems, specifically
RX Connect Additional Details:
This role requires immediate availability to support pharmacy leadership needs Contract includes coverage for associated travel and lodging expenses at cost This position represents an important opportunity to provide strategic direction and operational oversight in a specialized care environment.
