Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy at a 70-bed long-term acute care (LTAC) hospital in the San Diego area. This contract position offers leadership of the pharmacy department, serving as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for the site and ensuring effective pharmacy operations. The role begins as soon as possible and is expected to last at least 13 weeks, with the potential to transition to a permanent position.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive oversight of the pharmacy department to maintain high standards of patient care and regulatory compliance. Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), managing all pharmacy activities and operations at the site. Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication management and patient safety. Utilize RX Connect pharmacy information system for daily operations and documentation. Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
Active California pharmacist license required. Proven experience as a Director of Pharmacy or in a similar leadership role within California healthcare facilities. Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations and LTCAC hospital pharmacy operations. Proficient in using pharmacy IT systems, particularly RX Connect. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
