Experienced Pharmacy Technician - LTC / Retail Pharmacy Confidential La Palma, CA Job Details Full-time $25 - $30 an hour 2 hours ago Qualifications Retail pharmacy experience Teamwork HIPAA Pharmacy technician experience Pharmacies (work setting) Attention to detail Packaging Registered Pharmacy Technician Full Job Description Job Summary Phoenix Pharmacy is seeking an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician with background in both Long-Term Care (LTC) and Retail Pharmacy settings. This position is ideal for someone who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, provide excellent customer service, and support pharmacy operations with accuracy, professionalism, and compassion. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, team-oriented, and experienced with prescription processing, insurance billing, LTC workflow, and retail pharmacy support. Key Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently Process new prescriptions, refills, prior authorizations, and prescription clarifications Enter prescription data into the pharmacy management system Handle insurance claims, third-party billing, and troubleshoot claim rejections Support both retail and long-term care pharmacy workflow Prepare and maintain medication packaging, including bubble packs, cycle fills, and refill coordination for LTC patients Manage incoming phone calls from patients, providers, facilities, and caregivers in a professional manner Coordinate with nursing staff, assisted living facilities, board and care homes, and other LTC partners Maintain accurate patient profiles and medication records Help with inventory management, ordering, restocking, and checking for outdated medications Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, HIPAA, company policies, and quality standards Support daily pharmacy operations, including workflow management and customer service Assist with delivery coordination and urgent medication needs when necessary Qualifications Active California Pharmacy Technician registration required Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred Previous experience in Long-Term Care pharmacy strongly preferred Previous experience in Retail pharmacy required Strong knowledge of insurance billing, including Medicare, Medi-Cal, and commercial plans Experience with prescription processing software and pharmacy workflow systems Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask and work well under pressure Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Experience with bubble packing, cycle fill, and LTC medication coordination Familiarity with prior authorizations and treatment authorization requests Experience handling high prescription volume Bilingual is a plus Why Join Phoenix Pharmacy Opportunity to work in both retail and long-term care pharmacy Supportive team environment Meaningful work serving patients, caregivers, and healthcare partners Growth opportunity within an expanding pharmacy operation Competitive compensation based on experience
