Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy to provide leadership at a 100-bed community hospital near Washington, DC, in Northern Virginia. This role involves overseeing the pharmacy's daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding a dedicated team. The hospital maintains an average daily census of 20 to 40 patients, offering a dynamic but manageable environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise pharmacy staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care. Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards and accreditation requirements. Participate actively in interdisciplinary meetings, contributing pharmacy expertise to clinical and operational discussions. Oversee medication distribution systems and technology, including Meditech and Omnicell. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the pharmacy department.
Qualifications:
Current Virginia Pharmacist license is required. Approximately 2 years of recent inpatient pharmacy management experience. Proficiency with Meditech and Omnicell systems strongly preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Location:
Northern Virginia, conveniently accessible from the Washington, DC metro area.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, daytime shifts. This contract position offers a critical leadership role within a community-focused hospital environment.
