Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract This 13-week contract opportunity is ideal for a skilled Pharmacy Technician with expertise in retail, mail order, and prescription processing. Located in Clearwater, FL, the role requires dedication to accuracy and efficiency within a fast-paced pharmacy environment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a start date as soon as possible or within approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks after offer clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and fill prescriptions, handle insurance adjudications, and resolve rejections promptly. Prepare, package, and label medications accurately for pharmacist verification. Perform data entry, manage prescription paperwork, and communicate clearly with patients and prescribers. Maintain accurate inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and monitoring medication expiration dates. Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction processes as needed. Cross-train across various pharmacy functions to support department operations. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required. PTCB certification and a valid Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing. Minimum of 2 years' pharmacy technician experience; call center experience preferred. Exceptional multitasking, organizational, and time management abilities. Strong communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with patients, providers, and internal teams.
