  • Pharmacy & Compounding is seeking a highly experienced, dependable, and customer-focused Pharmacy Technician to join our team.
This role is ideal for a technician with strong retail pharmacy experience, non-sterile compounding expertise, and clinical support skills who thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and committed to accuracy, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities Prepare the pharmacy for daily operations, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment Greet and assist patients professionally at the counter Manage a high volume of phone calls from patients, prescribers, and insurance companies Receive, review, and verify prescription accuracy and completeness Process prescriptions electronically, ensuring correct patient, medication, and insurance information Resolve insurance rejections, billing issues, and third-party claim discrepancies Accurately count, measure, calculate, and compound non-sterile medications Label prescriptions and verify accuracy with the pharmacist prior to dispensing Assist in patient education under pharmacist supervision Contact prescriber offices for refill authorizations and prescription clarifications Maintain prescription and OTC inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and storage Receive and process medication deliveries (create labels for shipping) Monitor expiration dates and properly document and dispose of expired medications Restock automated dispensing cabinets and perform quality control checks Maintain accurate inventory records in pharmacy computer systems Perform administrative and clerical duties, including documentation and record-keeping Ensure compliance with federal, state, and pharmacy regulations Collaborate closely with pharmacists to support daily pharmacy operations Work in both outpatient and clinical settings as assigned Perform authorized point-of-care testing Follow all security, safety, and pharmacy protocols Perform additional duties as assigned (Cholesterol, A1C, COVID-19, etc.) Required Qualifications 3-5 years of retail pharmacy experience (REQUIRED) Active Pharmacy Technician license/registration (state-required) Non-sterile compounding experience (REQUIRED) Strong experience with: Prescription processing Insurance billing and prior authorizations Pharmacy management systems Solid understanding of medication handling, labeling, and dosage calculations Ability to manage high prescription volume with accuracy and efficiency Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications Bilingual:
English/Spanish (Preferred) Experience in clinical or outpatient pharmacy settings Physical & Work Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and move pharmacy supplies Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Why Join Pines Health Mart?
