Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire A leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy to oversee multi-state pharmacy operations with a focus on regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and financial performance. This permanent, direct hire role requires a strategic leader who can guide pharmacy teams, implement best practices, and maintain consistent processes across locations while collaborating with vendors and regulatory agencies.
Location:
Riverview, FL (local candidates preferred; multi-licensed candidates near Clearwater strongly encouraged)
Key Responsibilities:
Lead pharmacy operations and compliance efforts across multiple states. Provide strategic oversight for pharmacy managers, supervisors, and staff. Recruit, develop, and manage high-performing teams. Establish and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, and workflows. Drive continuous quality improvement and chair quality review committees. Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control measures. Maintain vendor and manufacturer relationships to ensure product availability and competitive pricing. Ensure adherence to Board of Pharmacy regulations, Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and other requirements. Promote collaboration, effective communication, and customer service excellence. Uphold confidentiality, ethical standards, and professional representation.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Healthcare, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5-7 years of pharmacy-related experience, with a minimum of 4 years in leadership or management. Extensive knowledge of pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and healthcare reimbursement. Proven skills in performance management, process improvement, and quality assurance. Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and coaching abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to analyze complex information, manage multiple priorities, and drive results. Multi-state pharmacy licensures required. Willingness to travel as needed.
