Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist - Retail Job Type Contract To Hire A growing healthcare organization is seeking a motivated Retail/Chronic Care Staff Pharmacist to play a pivotal role in launching a new Chronic Illness & Pain Management Pharmacy located in a rural community near Red Oak, Iowa (approximately 1 hour from Omaha, NE). This position offers a unique opportunity to build and shape a specialized pharmacy service within an expanding hospital team that values collaboration and clinical excellence.
Shift:
Day Shift | 8:00 AM - 4:30
PM Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and launch of a Chronic Care/Pain Management Pharmacy on-site Provide high-quality outpatient and retail pharmacy services to patients Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and care teams to optimize medication therapy outcomes Deliver patient counseling focused on chronic disease and pain management Ensure strict compliance with regulatory and safety standards Contribute to workflow improvements and enhance operational efficiency
Qualifications:
Active Pharmacist license or eligibility for licensure is required Experience in retail and/or outpatient pharmacy settings is essential Ambulatory care experience is strongly preferred Board Certification in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy (BCACP) is highly desirable Strong clinical knowledge related to chronic illness and pain management is advantageous Comfortable and willing to work in a rural or small-town environment Open to local candidates or those interested in relocating for long-term career growth
Technology Experience:
