Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract Lead pharmacy operations as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a new behavioral health facility opening in Peoria, IL. This contract role requires a pharmacist with leadership skills and inpatient hospital experience to oversee all pharmacy functions at this startup behavioral hospital. The position involves hands-on management, system implementation, and close collaboration with clinical teams.

Contract, starting May 25th through July (end date may be flexible)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM On-call coverage required after each shift Possible weekend on-call coverage
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily pharmacy operations as the working Director of Pharmacy Lead pharmacy setup including stocking and organizing the Omnicell automation system Approve medication orders efficiently and maintain compliance Coordinate and participate in Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) meetings Implement and monitor order entry system (HCS) workflows Ensure the pharmacy meets startup and regulatory requirements Work independently without technician support as staff size is limited to the
Director Qualifications:
Active Illinois pharmacist license required Preferred experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy, particularly behavioral health Familiarity with HCS order entry systems and Omnicell automation is highly desirable Ability to lead pharmacy operations in a startup environment Strong organizational and communication skills This is a unique opportunity to be instrumental in launching a new behavioral health pharmacy service. Full training on HCS and Omnicell will be provided to support your success.
