Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract A leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Director of Pharmacy to manage and establish the pharmacy operations at a new behavioral health facility. This role involves hands-on management as the Pharmacy-in-Charge (PIC), responsible for setting up and overseeing all pharmacy functions in a startup environment.
Location:
Peoria, IL Job Type:
Contract (starting May 25th through July, end date may adjust)
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM On-call coverage after each shift Possible weekend on-call
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the working Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy-in-Charge at a new behavioral health facility Lead the opening and setup of the pharmacy including stocking the Omnicell automated system Approve medication orders and manage pharmacy operations daily Participate in Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee meetings Ensure compliance with regulatory standards Utilize HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation (experience preferred; training provided) Operate without pharmacy technician support, managing all pharmacy duties independently
Qualifications and Experience:
Licensed pharmacist in Illinois required Previous inpatient hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred Experience with behavioral health pharmacy operations preferred Familiarity with HCS order entry and Omnicell automation systems is a plus Strong leadership and organizational skills essential
