Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for an experienced Director of Pharmacy to lead the pharmacy operations at a newly opening behavioral health facility in Peoria, Illinois. This contract position is scheduled to start around May 25th and will continue through July, with potential adjustments to the end date.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the working Director of Pharmacy at a new behavioral facility. Oversee pharmacy setup including stocking and managing the Omnicell automated system. Approve medication orders and participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics meetings. Provide leadership in pharmacy operations without sterile compounding. Manage on-call responsibilities following daily shifts and possibly on weekends. Collaborate closely with facility staff to ensure pharmacy compliance and efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Licensed pharmacist in Illinois. Prior experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy settings. Familiarity with order entry systems, preferably HCS. Experience with Omnicell automation preferred. Ability to work independently in a pharmacy without technician support. Local candidates preferred; travel expenses may be considered for out-of-area applicants.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with on-call duties after shifts. Possible on-call support during weekends.

Training will be provided for HCS and Omnicell systems. Dress code is business casual. Facility is conveniently located near Peoria International Airport.
