Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract Oversee the pharmacy operations at a new behavioral health facility as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) in Peoria, IL. This contract role is ideal for a licensed Illinois pharmacist with inpatient hospital experience who thrives in leadership positions and is ready to make an immediate impact by launching and managing pharmacy services in a dynamic setting.
Responsibilities include:
Leading pharmacy services for a behavioral health facility during its opening phase Overseeing medication stocking and managing the Omnicell automated dispensing system Approving medication orders using the HCS order entry system Participating in P&T committee meetings to establish and maintain pharmacy standards Managing on-call duties Monday through Friday with potential weekend coverage Setting up pharmacy operations from the ground up without sterile compounding responsibilities
Qualifications:
Current Illinois pharmacist license Proven experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy operations Leadership ability to direct pharmacy services independently Familiarity with HCS and Omnicell preferred; comprehensive training will be provided Comfortable working in behavioral health specialty areas
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with on-call coverage following shifts Possible weekend on-call coverage as needed This contract assignment starts as soon as May 25th and extends through July, with flexibility on the end date.
