Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract This opportunity invites a seasoned Pharmacy Director to lead the pharmacy operations at a newly established behavioral hospital. This contract role offers the chance to shape pharmacy services from the ground up, overseeing daily operations and ensuring compliance within a focused behavioral health setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the working Director of Pharmacy, managing all aspects of pharmacy operations. Lead the initial setup of the pharmacy, including stocking and managing Omnicell automation. Approve medication orders and collaborate in Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) meetings. Provide on-call support during weekdays and potentially on weekends. Oversee compliance and operational standards in a new facility environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Illinois pharmacist licensure is required. Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy, preferably in behavioral health. Familiarity with HCS order entry systems and Omnicell automation is preferred; training will be provided. Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently, as there is no tech support staff. Local candidates are preferred; consideration of travel expenses is possible.
Location:
Peoria, Illinois Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with on-call duties after shifts. Possible weekend on-call coverage.

Business casual dress code. Training for HCS and Omnicell systems will be provided.

Peoria International Airport. This is a contract position with coverage starting as soon as May 25th through July, with potential for date adjustments.
