Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract Lead the pharmacy operations at a newly opening behavioral health facility as the Director of Pharmacy with PIC responsibilities. This role is ideal for a licensed Illinois pharmacist experienced in inpatient hospital settings, seeking a rewarding contract position to impact a facility's foundational pharmacy services.
Position Details:
Location:
Peoria, Illinois (Washington area) Contract duration: Starting ASAP, May 25th through July (dates may adjust)
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM plus on-call coverage after each shift Weekend on-call coverage may be required
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the working Director of Pharmacy overseeing all pharmacy functions in the new behavioral health facility Lead the pharmacy opening processes, including stocking Omnicell automation cabinets and setting up workflow Approve medication orders and participate actively in Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) committee meetings Manage pharmacy operations without sterile compounding or tech support, requiring autonomy and leadership Utilize HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation; training provided on both platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
Licensed pharmacist in Illinois Previous inpatient hospital pharmacy experience, especially in behavioral health, highly valued Familiarity with HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation preferred but not required
