Pharmacy Director - Indianapolis, Indiana RPh on the Go - 4.1 Indianapolis, IN Job Details Contract 8 hours ago Qualifications Clinical pharmacy experience Pharmacies (work setting) Licensed Pharmacist (State-Specific) Doctor of Pharmacy Licensed Pharmacist Full Job Description Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This role requires a skilled pharmacist to serve as a Staff Pharmacist/Pharmacy Manager within a behavioral health setting. The position involves overseeing daily pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing medication dispensing processes. The schedule includes day shifts Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, along with evening on-call duties and weekend on-call coverage. The assignment covers select dates in May and then three days per week through mid-June.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify and dispense medication orders, including controlled substances Manage Pyxis automated medication systems Maintain compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and State Board of Pharmacy regulations Provide staffing support and oversee pharmacy operations in the absence of technician support Collaborate with leadership, including the working Director of Pharmacy, during open Joint Commission survey window
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Indiana Pharmacy License required Experience in hospital pharmacy settings essential Pharmacy management background preferred Familiarity with order entry system HCS desirable; training available if needed Experience with Pyxis automation advantageous; training provided if necessary Ability to work independently without technician support Local candidates preferred; travel expenses may be considered
Schedule and Location:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Evening and weekend on-call duties as assigned Indianapolis, IN area This contract opportunity is ideal for pharmacists with strong leadership skills and behavioral health pharmacy experience.
