Job Overview:
We're seeking a highly experienced Director of Pharmacy Operations to lead and oversee operations for a growing 503A compounding pharmacy. This is a senior leadership role focused on driving operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing pharmacy workflow and performance. The ideal candidate is a licensed pharmacist with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of pharmacy operations and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage daily pharmacy operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance Oversee prescription workflow, staffing models, and operational performance Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs, policies, and compliance documentation Ensure adherence to regulatory standards including USP <795>, <797>, and <800> Manage DEA-regulated controlled substance processes Drive continuous process improvement and operational excellence Collaborate with leadership to support business growth and scalability Ensure readiness for regulatory inspections and compliance audits AL01
Required Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited institution Active, unrestricted Kansas Pharmacist License Minimum 5+ years of pharmacy operations or management experience Strong knowledge of pharmacy workflow, staffing, and operational metrics Experience with SOP development and compliance documentation Familiarity with USP <795> and general understanding of USP <797> and <800> Experience managing controlled substances (DEA regulations) Must be local to or able to commute to
Lenexa, KS Preferred Qualifications:
Missouri Pharmacist License (or willingness to obtain) Experience in 503A or 503B compounding pharmacy settings Familiarity with GLP-1, HRT, and functional medicine compounding Experience with FDA inspections and cGMP standards Sterile compounding certification (BCSCP) or willingness to pursue Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement certification Experience in high-growth pharmacy environments
