We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Clinical Programs to lead clinical pharmacy initiatives supporting the Department of Public Health State Office for Pharmacy Services (SOPS). This leadership position reports directly to the Health System Director of Pharmacy and the Chief Clinical Officer and offers the opportunity to influence patient care programs, clinical strategy, and pharmacy practice across a diverse healthcare population. Position Summary The Director of Clinical Programs is a client-facing leadership role responsible for overseeing and developing a team of clinical pharmacists who provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care and medication management services. The successful candidate will lead clinical initiatives, collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and support innovative patient-centered programs designed to improve health outcomes and optimize medication therapy. This position requires exceptional clinical expertise, leadership ability, strategic thinking, and communication skills to effectively manage clinical operations and foster strong relationships with healthcare partners and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for clinical pharmacy programs and services. Manage and develop a high-performing team of clinical pharmacists. Promote clinical excellence and evidence-based pharmacy practice throughout the organization. Support professional development, mentorship, and performance management of clinical staff. Program Development & Clinical Services Lead and implement innovative clinical pharmacy initiatives. Develop strategies to improve medication management and patient outcomes. Evaluate clinical program effectiveness and identify opportunities for enhancement. Ensure clinical services align with organizational goals, client expectations, and regulatory requirements. Patient Care & Medication Management Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care. Support medication therapy management programs for chronic disease states and complex patient populations. Promote safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication use. Participate in clinical decision-making and pharmaceutical care initiatives. Client Relations & Collaboration Serve as a primary clinical liaison with healthcare partners and stakeholders. Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and service delivery. Participate in meetings, presentations, and strategic planning initiatives with clients and leadership teams. Quality & Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies. Monitor quality metrics and clinical outcomes. Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and best-practice implementation. Strategic Planning Contribute to organizational growth and clinical strategy development. Analyze clinical and operational data to support decision-making. Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and enhanced patient care services. Qualifications Required Education Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.

D.) degree from an accredited college or school of pharmacy. Completion of at least one year of postgraduate residency training. Licensure Active Maryland Pharmacist License in good standing. Experience Minimum of three (3) years of clinical pharmacy experience. Demonstrated experience in clinical program development, patient care, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Preferred Certifications Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) certification, or Active pursuit of Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification. Leadership Experience Experience leading clinical pharmacy teams, programs, or initiatives. Experience working with healthcare systems, government agencies, or institutional pharmacy settings.
