Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract A Behavioral Health facility in St. Louis is seeking an experienced professional to serve as an Interim Director of Pharmacy starting July 6th, with an expected duration of approximately 8 weeks until a permanent placement is made. This opportunity involves leading the pharmacy department through its startup phase at a newly established facility licensed for 96 beds, initially operating with 12 inpatient beds.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the pharmacy setup including procurement, packaging, and stocking of medications Manage Pyxis automation systems, ensuring smooth operation and accurate inventory control Verify medication orders after patients are admitted onsite Maintain effective communication with executive leadership and the Area Director of Pharmacy Provide on-call coverage Monday through Friday and for weekends as needed during startup Coordinate with remote training resources to ensure compliance and efficient operations
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Licensed Pharmacist in Missouri with Medication Therapy Services certification Strong background in inpatient behavioral health pharmacy practice Proficiency with Pyxis automation systems required Familiarity with the HCS order entry system; training will be provided Ability to work independently without pharmacy technicians or additional staff support Local candidates preferred due to on-site responsibilities and ease of communication
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, plus on-call coverage Weekend on-call only This role offers the chance to lead pharmacy operations at an exciting new behavioral health site with significant opportunity to shape the service delivery model.
