Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy to lead pharmacy operations at a behavioral health facility specializing in inpatient psychiatric care. This contract role begins in early July and will continue for approximately eight weeks until a permanent director is hired.
Location:
Chesterfield, MO (St. Louis area)
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with on-call duties Weekend on-call coverage only
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee pharmacy setup and daily operations in a new behavioral health site licensed for 96 beds, currently starting with 12 Manage procurement, packaging, and stocking of medications using Pyxis automation Verify medication orders upon patient admission Maintain clear communication with the C-suite executives and Area Director of Pharmacy Collaborate closely during startup and provide occasional on-call support Participate in remote training to ensure seamless pharmacy integration
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Missouri Pharmacist License with Medication Therapy Services credential Experience in inpatient behavioral health pharmacy settings Proficiency with Pyxis automated medication systems required Familiarity with HCS order entry system preferred; training provided Ability to function independently; no onsite pharmacy technicians available Strong communication and leadership skills This role requires a local candidate or one willing to commute. Business casual or scrubs attire is appropriate. The nearest airport is St. Louis Lambert International Airport for those considering relocation.
